These are the names this project gives to the ways its fiction works. Structural Dread supplies the shared engine. Geopunk and Structural Atrocity carry that engine through different worlds and systems. The Corrective Trap names a mechanism that can operate in either.

Structural Dread
A person’s trained precision becomes the opening through which an indifferent reality enters. The skill that lets the narrator understand the disturbance also determines what it costs them to keep living with it. Architecture, sound, and the surfaces used to record experience do the work.
The narrator survives, and the cost continues. The governing relation is exact: the cost mirrors the gift.
Geopunk
On Sol, geometry is infrastructure. It carries power, transport, medicine, surveillance, and the allocation of resources. The city distributes clean air, exposure, permission, and useful work through its physical structure. Its social order is built into where and how people can live.
Geopunk is the setting-and-system mode of these stories. Its pressure comes from a functioning civilization whose ordinary operations make some lives usable and others expendable.
Structural Atrocity
On Earth after the worlds meet, familiar institutions continue to care, classify, protect, and review. Their procedures remain lawful and recognizable while the physical conditions beneath them have changed. A correct procedure can turn a person into a needed function and keep them in that condition indefinitely.
The retention matters as much as the conversion. The Ward — LV57 and The Capacity — LV64 approach this through care and adjudication. They belong to the later world; readers following the collection should reach them in numbered order.
The Corrective Trap
The safeguard is the mechanism. A process intended to correct, certify, stabilize, or preserve becomes the means of capture through its successful operation. No malfunction or malicious operator is necessary.
This is a mechanism within the fiction, rather than another setting. It links the individual instrument to the larger systems that recruit it.
Style and range
The vocabulary grows from the work being done: a tuner hears, a repairer tests, a clerk reconciles, a maker judges the fit of a living material. Warmth, domestic care, and wit can open the same door as professional precision. Each story stays close to what its particular instrument can perceive.
The dread belongs to the use made of people and their capacities. Human difference is never the explanation for the horror.
